A successful page load on the share URL. We deduplicate within a short window so the same person refreshing doesn't inflate the count.
First open from each recipient pings you. Subsequent opens within 1 hour are throttled. You stay informed without 50 pings on a busy share.
Country always; city when the IP-to-location data has it. Pulled from Vercel/Cloudflare headers, not browser geolocation, so no permission prompts.
On Pro with email capture: yes — opens map to recipient emails. Without email capture, opens are anonymous (count only).
Some, like Gmail's image preloader, may register as opens — that's a known quirk of all link-tracking tools. Real human visits dwarf preview pings in practice.
